The Concordia Hip + Knee Institute was an opportunity for Concordia Hospital and the University of Manitoba Joint Replacement Group to take patient care, research and education to the next level.

While surgery and post-operative care continue to be performed at the Hospital, the Institute acts as an integrated facility providing pre-operative assessment, a pre-habilitation program to optimize patients’ health before surgery, post-operative follow up through a high-efficiency clinic, digital imaging suites, and office space for surgeons and support staff in addition to a much-needed expanded facility for research and education.

Recognizing that this facility will remain as the hub for Hip and Knee Replacements for many years to come, the consultant team pushed a design effort that was flexible to grow with ongoing technology advances and timeless aesthetic appeal. The innovative environment features stainless steel and wood veneer ceilings, cherry millwork, textured glass, travertine stone accents, and quartz countertops; all extremely durable materials.
